Manuel A. González is Senior Director, Client Coverage at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) for the northern cone of Latin America. With more than 24 years of experience in financial markets, Manuel heads up business activities in the region, with the goal of promoting the use of equity and fixed income indices as benchmarks or with financial products. Manuel has also worked in the development of partnerships with stock exchanges in the region.
Previously, Manuel worked as Global Director at Proveedor Integral de Precios (PiP), where he was responsible for the assessment and development of business activities in Central and South America. In addition, Manuel participated in the launch of the fixed income index series called Dow Jones LATixx, which was the basis for the first sovereign debt ETFs created in Latin America. He also worked at Merrill Lynch Mexico as Vice President of Operations, Systems and Technology, and at SD Indeval, part of BMV Group, as Global Custody Director.
Manuel has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a master’s degree in senior management from IPADE.
