Ryan Christianson is Senior Analyst, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Strategy Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). He focuses on the development and growth of new types of ESG indices in the APAC region. He is also responsible for the development of innovative strategy indices, including indices that are not standard market-cap weighted, such as factor-based, risk management, multi-asset, and other quantitative strategies.

Prior to his current role, Ryan was Associate Director, Client Coverage at S&P DJI’s Japan headquarters, providing index solutions across all asset classes to asset managers and institutional clientele. He also spent four years at the New York headquarters of S&P DJI as a Channel Management Associate. In that role, he was responsible for the growth of assets in index-linked investment vehicles through the various industry channels, such as financial advisors and insurance.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Boston University. He was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and is fluent in Japanese and English.
